The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, believes the outcome of the party’s national executive elections will be determined by delegates, expressing confidence in their ability to make the right choice.

Speaking in an interview with our reporter during the NPP National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, Dr. Opoku Prempeh (Napo) said he had no personal interest in the ongoing elections and was leaving the decision entirely in the hands of delegates.

He pointed out that the democratic process within the party should be respected and trusted to produce the best outcome.

“The wisdom of the masses will prevail,” he told our reporter when asked about the elections taking place during the conference.

Napo stated that delegates from across the country had gathered to participate in a process that would shape the future direction of the party, emphasizing that every vote cast would contribute to strengthening the NPP ahead of future elections.

He also addressed questions about the party’s prospects in the 2028 general election, noting that elections in Ghana have always been highly competitive.

“All Ghana’s elections have been tough and have been keenly contested, but at the end of the day, the wisdom of the masses will speak,” he said.

He further expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the next election cycle and voiced support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s future political ambitions.

“The voters will decide who they think will give Ghana hope from 2029 onward, and they will elect that person. And I believe sincerely, it’s going to be Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP,” he said.

He expressed satisfaction with the way party supporters, delegates and candidates have comported themselves so far.
