The Member of Parliament for Suame, John Darko, has reported to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over its investigation into the loss of about GH¢27 million at SIC Savings and Loans Company Limited, and has been granted enquiry bail.

In a statement dated October 13, 2026, EOCO said it is investigating an alleged criminal conspiracy that has caused a revised financial loss to the company, now estimated at about GH¢27 million.

EOCO said it invited Mr Darko to assist investigators with information relevant to the matter. He reported to the Office at exactly 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 13 and was respectful, cooperative, and fully responsive throughout, it said.

“Given the circumstances of the case, the applicable law, and his cooperation, the Office granted him enquiry bail,” the EOCO statement read.

EOCO also said the former Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, has honoured its invitation and is cooperating with investigators.

The Office stressed that the investigation is progressing steadily according to its case theory. It said that, as the probe remains active, no conclusion has been reached on the culpability or otherwise of any person connected to the matter.
