A fire outbreak at Anlo Town in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region has destroyed 11 rooms in a 23-room compound house.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said a 10-member crew from the New Juaben North Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident and successfully brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
Eastern Regional Fire Public Relations Officer, DOIII Aaron Adu Ohemeng, said no damage was reported to adjoining buildings.
However, personal belongings, two electric motorbikes and a bicycle were destroyed in the blaze.
Access to the affected building has since been restricted over concerns about its structural integrity.
Senior officers of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Police have visited the scene, while investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
