Notorious fetish priest, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, says all fetish priests in the country have met to perform rituals against persons engaged in illegal small-scale mining, popularly known as galamsey.
He says since the rituals were performed, a lot of people have been dying at mining sites, yet the reports are not coming out.
He has prophesied that chief who allow galamsey to fester on their lands will follow suit in the recent deaths that have been occurring across several galamsey sites in the country.
Speaking on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye
“All the fetish priests met to perform rituals and since, a lot of people are dying on site yet the reports are not coming out,” he told host, JB, in Twi.
He explained that the river gods allow people to mine in their habitats once they appeal to them, the reason the rivers are being destroyed at the expense of gold.
He said the gods act upon what they are told and until the country takes steps to incur their wrath on those destroying the environment, the gods will let them be since they do not really care about the rivers being clean or otherwise.
“Our rivers are spirits, so they listen to what we tell them. That’s why when you go there to pray that you are there to take gold, they will allow you to but you’ll later go thirsty,” he stated.
“They are spirits and do not mind whether the water is clean or not,” he added.
