The Micro Finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), has disbursed GHC23,931,245.00 to 18,448 people in the Ashanti region from 2017 to date to sustain their businesses.

Speaking on GhanaAkoma evening political show on Akoma 87.9FM in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional Manager of MASLOC, Hajia Zeinabu Sallow, said they have been able to achieve 49 per cent recovery rate.

Out of the people who benefited from the scheme,15,089 are women representing 81.1per cent whilst 3,335 are men representing 18.3 per cent.

She told host Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin that they have been able to recover GHC12,288,227.90 from the beneficiaries.

MASLOC has provided microcredit and small loans to start-ups and small businesses with fast, easy and accessibility microcredit and small loans to grow and expand their businesses.

Hajia Sallow promised that she would keep up the region’s tradition of empowering businesses to grow.

She mentioned that MASLOC has extended credit facilities to women in poultry to expand their production.

According to her, there are plans of extending credit facilities to rice farmers in the region to expand their farming activities.
