The Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company, Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering collaboration and strengthening stakeholder engagement as he officially begins his tenure.

During his first Management meeting with the Senior Staff Association, he expressed appreciation for their support following his recent appointment and emphasized the critical role of staff in driving the company’s vision forward.

Ing. Dr. Lartey was appointed in February 2024, bringing with him extensive industry experience and a deep understanding of Ghana’s gas infrastructure. His leadership comes at a crucial time when Ghana Gas is focusing on expanding its capacity to meet the country’s growing energy demands.

“The Senior Staff Association remains a vital pillar in ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing losses across our processes. The company relies on your professionalism and expertise to achieve its strategic objectives,” he stated.


Recognizing the critical role of employee well-being, Ing. Dr. Lartey outlined key areas of focus to create a conducive work environment and boost productivity. These include:

*Enhancing recreational facilities to improve staff well-being and work-life balance.
*Reviewing collective bargaining agreements to ensure fairness and equitable benefits.
*Improving transportation and logistics for efficient operational support.

*Revising performance appraisal systems to reflect industry best practices and staff growth.
*Implementing infrastructural projects to boost operational capacity and increase revenue generation.

The GGSSA executives welcomed his proactive approach, commending his in-depth industry knowledge and commitment to addressing the concerns of staff.

“We appreciate this opportunity to align with your vision. Your expertise and familiarity with our challenges inspire confidence, and we pledge our full support in ensuring Ghana Gas continues to thrive,” the Association executives affirmed.

Ghana Gas plays a critical role in Ghana’s energy security and industrial growth. As the country’s leading natural gas transmission company, it supplies reliable and affordable natural gas to power plants, industries, and other key sectors, reducing Ghana’s dependence on imported fuel and supporting economic development.

With ongoing expansion projects, the company aims to increase its gas processing and distribution capacity, ensuring energy sustainability, reducing power generation costs, and creating more jobs within the energy sector.

The meeting forms part of the Acting CEO’s ongoing stakeholder engagements aimed at fostering collaboration, improving operational efficiency, and positioning Ghana Gas as a leading player in Africa’s energy transition.
