Cape Verde beat Mozambique 3-0 at the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium on Friday, January 19 to move 4 points clear in Group B.

The win sees the Blue Sharks becoming the first side to qualify to the knock-out round of the tournament with a game in hand.

The result also sees Ghana move out of bottom to third place in the group with a superior goal aggregate over the Mambas of Mozambique.

Both nations secured a 2-2 draw against Egypt but the heavy loss by the Mozambicans on Friday gives the advantage to the Black Stars, who lost 1-2 to Cape Verde in their first match.

The two will face off in the final group game on Monday, January 22.

On Friday, the Cape Verdeans followed up from where they left off against Ghana, scoring through marksman Bebe in the first half.

His powerful freekick beat Ernan Siluane in the Mozambique post.

Two goals from Ryan Mendes and Kevin Goncalves in the second half sealed a 3-0 victory for the Blue Sharks.

It will be all play all in the final group matches between Ghana and Mozambique with the winner making it to the next round.

Egypt will also seek at least a win to guarantee a place in the Round of 16.
