Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has chastised the Akufo-Addo government for the prevailing power rationing in the country locally referred to as ‘dumsor‘.
She says the current administration has no excuse to plunge the nation back into darkness since “all the hard work has already been done by John Mahama” to generate the necessary power needed for electricity.
According to her, dumsor has transcended through all administrations in the Fourth Republic, with John Mahama putting in the most efforts to curbing the challenge.
However, the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has not added any generational capacity taking the nation aback when it comes to power generation.
A post she made on her social media Thursday, March 28, 2024 said if Mahama’s input is taken out of the equation, the entire country might probably shut down.
Find below the statement made by Madam Mogtari.
Dumsor has not been a novelty in our 4th Republic. In fact, Ghanaians remember how under President Kuffour, people went to pray at Akosombo as a way of fixing the problem.
We are all also aware that dumsor became intense under Mr Mahama and the NDC resolved to deal with it.
Indeed, the records show that Mr Mahama did his utmost best to find a sustainable solution. It took many agonizing days and many sleepless nights to fix. Mr Mahama took the fall for dumsor.
Today, if you take out the capacity that Mahama added to our generation, our economy will be massively affected and this country will probably shut down.
The current government has no excuse plunging us back into Dumsor after all the hardwork has already been done by John Mahama.
