Founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, also known as Prophet Kumchacha has said Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would have been Ghana’s best president if leadership was determined by eloquence in the English language.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo’s unparalleled English speaking prowess as compared to other leaders since Ghana’s Fourth Republic has had no impact on his leadership considering the unprecedented failure on several aspects of the economy.
Prophet Kumchacha was speaking on Onua TV’s ‘Biribi Gyegye Wo’ Saturday, October 15, 2022, hosted by Mona Gucci.
His comment stems from a viral video with a Fire Service personnel attacking a blogger for taking video of a poor road in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, in order not to disgrace the president.
In the said video, traffic had mounted on a poor road which the blogger was shooting amid comments of Kumasi residents bragging of unparalleled development despite the glaring challenges in the city.
The residents made the pronouncements when Onua TV joined its sister station in Kumasi, Akoma FM, to present the Garden City’s edition of the Peoples’ Assembly.
In the midst of the video shoot, a woman in Fire uniform walked to the blogger and struck his phone saying the video would be a disgrace to the president so he should discontinue.
Making some comments on the incident, Kumchacha felt it was time Ghanaians changed the narrative in 2024 and vote for him to become president to make the issue of poor roads a history.
He said people should not belittle his confidence because of his inabilty to speak English because “if speaking English was the yardstick for good leadership, then from 1993, Akufo-Addo would have been the finest president. You have voted for the English people and things didn’t go well so you now have to vote for the Twi people.”
