All roads leading to the NDC constituency party office at Akwatia have been blocked by a group of party supporters as they celebrate ahead official declaration of the final results.
This is creating a challenging situation for the police as it’s almost impossible for vehicles to pass through.
The supporters believe the NDC candidate, Bernard Bediako Baidoo has won the elections with the EC yet to declare a winner.
Meanwhile, there is heavy security at the collation centre where collation of results is currently ongoing for official declaration of the results.

Earlier, Bernard Bediako Baidoo has expressed confidence in winning the by-election, although he’s not certain on his win margin.
Speaking to journalists after voting on September 2, 2025, Bernard Baidoo said “as for the win, it is a done deal. I can assure you. I can tell you on authority that I can win the election. What we are working on is the margin of win. Call me in the next two hours and I can tell you the margin.”

He noted that from his interactions with the electorates during his campaign, he is certain that he will emerge victorious.
“I made it clear that I will win the elections. I never said so before campaigning but after campaigning I said it because these are people you engage and when you talk, they can talk back at you and you can make meaning out of the things they say to you. I know what they said,” he added.
Commenting on the voting process so far, Bernard Baidoo commended the Electoral Commission, the police and electorates for a peaceful process so far.

“The elections have been very peaceful and that’s the prayer that we prayed. And so far, it’s been so very good. I have been to two thirds of the polling stations that we have and I am very impressed with the way the security officers, the EC and then the electorates have conducted themselves. It’s been very peaceful,” he remarked.
