Police Ladies FC’s dreams of reaching the final of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League were dashed following a 4-1 loss to hosts ASEC Mimosas.
They would have had the opportunity to fight for qualification for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Ivorians, who were playing in the tournament for the first time just like their Ghanaian opponents, made their intentions clear on Tuesday when they scored early in the game.
With a 1-0 advantage into the break, the hosts pushed further and doubled their lead just minutes after the restart at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro.
The score became 3-0 before Police Ladies pulled one back to make it 3-1.
However, the Ghanaian champions conceded a penalty, which was converted by ASEC, ending the game 4-1.
POLAS will fight for 3rd place on Friday against the winner of the second semi-final game between Bayelsa Queens and USFA.
