Black Starlets Head Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum has assured all that a different team altogether will be paraded against La Cote d’Ivoire in the finals of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championships.
The national U-17 men’s soccer team is scheduled to take on the hosts in the final on Friday, October 3, 2025.
The two sides met in the group stage in a game won by the Ivorians by 3-0.

But after defeating Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets on Tuesday to book a place in the final, Coach Ogum said lessons have been learnt and a new mentality will be taken into the match against Ivory Coast.
“They defeated us in the group stage, so fortunately we’ve been able to lay them so we know what to do,” he said in his post-semi-final presser.
“We’ll go back and then prepare ourselves in terms of our mentality, in terms of our character,” he stressed.
He added: “It’ll be a different Ghana in the final. Our structure, mentality, character, everything will be different.”
He charged his players to stay focused on the field of play.
“Tactically, we also have to restrategise to make sure that we meet them boot-for-boot.”
The final will take place at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro.
