Former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen has thanked President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for “graciously” accepting his resignation.
Mr Kyerematen resigned from the government in a letter on Thursday, January 5, 2023, and same was accepted by President Akufo-Addo on Friday, January 6.
He was consequently replaced by Kenneth Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister, who is to act as caretaker minister.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, January 7, Mr Kyerematen said he will be addressing Ghanaians in the next few days on his next line of action though many have predicted his resignation is to focus on his presidential ambitions.
I would like to thank @NAkufoAddo for the opportunity to serve and for graciously accepting my resignation as Cabinet Minister responsible for Trade and Industry, effective 16th January, 2023. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/ehINkF27Jr
