The Founder and CEO of Nguvu Mining Limited, Angela List has been elected as the 1st Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Her election at the recent Annual General Meeting of the Chamber in Accra, marked a significant stride in the umbrella body of companies that are in the forefront of the exploration, production and processing of mineral resources in the country.
Madam List, who holds the singular honour as the Most Outstanding Female Mining Entrepreneur in Africa, operates a chain of companies in West Africa, comprising Adamus Resources Limited, Northern Ashanti Mining Company Limited, Segala Mining Company, Samira Hill Gold Mine and Poura Resources Limited.
In Africa, specifically Mali, the mining magnate can boast of SEMICO-SA and MIKO-SA which are transforming Mali’s mining sector.
The election places her in the Chamber’s second-highest leadership position, with a mandate to assist the President shape policy, drive technical standards, and advocate for sustainable mining practices across Ghana.
This new feat chalked by the Nguvu Holdings boss goes to cement her sterling track record in the mining industry within and beyond the borders of Ghana.
She promised to leverage her 25 years of experience in the mining industry to help catapult the Ghana Chamber of Mines to an enviable future.
Madam List reiterated the need for more women to venture into in the male dominated mining space.
“After all, what men can do, women can do better. Indeed, the time has come to give a practical meaning to this idiom as far as the mining industry is concerned,” Madam List added.
She said her elevation from 2nd to 1st Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines comes with an additional responsibility to help maximize the dividends of the country’s mineral resources.
“And under no circumstances will I shirk this responsibility,” Madam List emphasized.
Before becoming the CEO of Nguvu Mining Limited, Madam List was the Executive Director of BCM Ghana Limited and BCM International Limited, both mining services providers, instrumental in growing from small businesses to large companies in their countries of operation.
She holds MSc and MBA from Manchester University and BSc (Administration) from the University of Ghana.
The Most Outstanding Female Mining Entrepreneur is also the winner of the 2025 Global Power Female Award, an exclusive honour for the most accomplished businesswomen in the world. The event was on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, and featured Heads of State and 1st Ladies from all over the world.
At the national level, Madam List has received a number of prestigious awards, including the Female CEO of the Year in 2023, and the recent Asantehene Award bestowed on her by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for her trailblazing excellence in Ghana’s mining industry.
