Koku Anyidoho, a former deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is surprised party members elected his former boss as Chairman for the next political season.

Mr. Anyidoho had campaigned against Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s candidature prior to the Congress, saying the NDC cannot wrestle power from the ruling government, should he (Asiedu Nketia) be elected as National Chair.

But the 10th National Delegates Congress of the NDC chose ‘General Mosquito’ –as Asiedu Nketia is known –over incumbent Samuel Ofosu Ampofo to lead them.

In a tweet made by Mr. Anyidoho after the NDC Congress, he said the NPP’s quest to breaking the 8 has become a reality now that power has been handed to the man he served under as scribe for the umbrella party.

“If anyone thinks I have wavered on my convictions; the victory of Asiedu-Nketiah has handed a victory baton to NPP,” the tweet read.

He added “I am grateful to God that nobody understands my brand of politics. The victory of Mosquito spells doom for the dead goat.”

General Mosquito has, however, resolved to work with all aspirants irrespective of whatever affiliation they have.

He said the NDC needs all to attain power in 2022.

He promised that all human resource deployment to be made by his administration will definitely include those candidates, who only missed out on securing the votes of delegates.
