Parliament’s Appointments Committee will be vetting the Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, with three other regional ministers-designate today, Monday, January 27, 2025.

The Committee Room 1 and 2 of the Administration  block of Parliament will host the vetting at 9:00am.

The vetting is part of the processes to ascertain whether or not, if persons nominated by the President for various ministerial positions are fit for purpose.

The vetting will allow the Appointments Committee to scrutinize the qualifications, experience, and visions of the nominees to ensure they are well-suited for their respective roles.

The nominees scheduled for vetting include:

  • Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah – Minister-Designate for Lands and Natural Resources
  • Tia Ibrahim – Minister-Designate for the North East Region
  • Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Minister-Designate for the Ashanti Region
  • Akamugri Atanga Donatus – Minister-Designate for the Upper East Region

The Committee has so far scrutinised some appointees who have subsequently been approved by Parliament and sworn-in to begin their respective mandates.

The process demonstrates the House’s commitment to ensuring those appointed for various portfolios are worth it.
