Two individuals have been arrested by the Western Central Regional Police Command in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man at the Asankragwa Education Area on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
Police statement indicate that its preliminary investigations showed the deceased was chased and stabbed multiple times by a group, including two suspects, following a misunderstanding between the victim and one of the suspects, identified as Kwasi Oppong.
According to the police statement, 36-year-old Oppong and 23-year-old William Francis Osei have currently been arrested and assisting in investigations while efforts are underway to arrest the other suspect who is on the run.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Asankragwa Catholic Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The police has assured that all persons involved in the matter will be arrested and brought to justice, urging the public to assist the Asankragwa police with relevant information to aid the investigation.
