The Matchday 28 late kickoff between Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex had to be rained off on Monday, April 6.

After a goalless first half, referee Nathan Anafo had no option than to suspend the match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium following heavy rains.

As per regulations of the Ghana Premier League, the match will restart at the point it was halted.

As a result, the match will be played for only 45 minutes, constituting the second half of the game.

The Porcupine Warriors are seeking to close in at the top after Medeama slipped in their title aspirations on Saturday with a win.

Though currently 4th on the log, Asante Kotoko will cut the point gap with leaders Bibiani Goldstars to 5 with the win.

The Timber Giants, on the other hand, are 8th on the log, not far from the top and equally not far from the relegation zone.
