The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has handed over 1.12 acres of land to the Ghana School of Law for the construction of an ultramodern campus in Adum, Kumasi.

The state-of-the-art educational facility is expected to decentralise legal education in Ghana, making it more accessible while promoting high standards in legal practice.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony on Monday, July 28, His Lordship Justice Nana Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, Justice of the Court of Appeal and Director of Legal Education, thanked Otumfuo for his continued commitment to education and national development.

“Once again, the King of Ashanti has demonstrated selflessness, commitment to education and infrastructure by graciously handing over to us approximately 1.12 acres of prime land in the heart of Kumasi for the construction of an ultramodern facility to serve as the Kumasi campus of the Ghana School of Law,” he stated.

Acting Chief Justice, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, called on stakeholders to support the timely completion of the project, saying it would play a crucial role in shaping Ghana’s justice system.

“This campus will not be just a building of bricks and mortar; it represents our collective aspiration for a Ghana governed by the rule of law. A Ghana where the pursuit of justice is a shared responsibility. It will be a place where future lawyers are not only trained in the law but also instilled with values and integrity in leadership,” he said.
