Properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis have been burnt to ashes at New Quarters, a suburb of Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.
Kwabena Yeboah, who reported the incident to Onua News disclosed the fire began around 12 noon Monday.
Even though residents tried dousing the flames, their efforts couldn’t yield results until the arrival of the Ghana National Fire Service.
Kwabena reports further that the fire began from one room in an extention being done to a main government structure within the Quarters.
The cause of the fire has not been established yet. The structure, which is not fully completed had window frames that were burnt to ashes.
Items like mattresses, Air Conditioners, Television sets, clothes, mobile phones and other were also burnt.
The affected family is seeking support from philanthropists and benevolent organisations.
