Police in Manso area in Ashanti Region have arrested one person following the demise of a 75-year-old farmer, Ibrahim Laa, who was allegedly stabbed to death at his residence in Manso Deduako, in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, a father of three, was discovered dead, with residents suspecting foul play.
The Assembly Member for the area, Emmanuel Gyawu who confirmed the incident, described it as unfortunate.
He said , the incident happened on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
In an interview with our news team, Mr Gyawu said that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder.
He observed that the area is not known for such incidents, making this event a surprise.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Saint Martin’s Hospital in Agroyesum in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region for preservation and autopsy.
He said tension is mounting in the community following the incident.
