The Ashanti regional Zango Chief, Sultan Umar Farouk Saeed has passed on at aged 75.
He was the 14th Sarkin Zango of the region.
A statement from Sarkin Zango Palace said “the sad event occurred on Thursday evening, February 23, 2023 after a protracted illness.
“Burial prayers would be held at the Kumasi Central Mosque on Friday, February 25 at 2pm, in accordance to Islamic rites”.
The Late Sultan Umar Farouk was installed as Sarkin Zango on January 29, 2010.
He left behind two wives and two children.
