The immediate past Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mathew Kojo Njourkone has ridiculed the demand for apology by the NPP from Johnson Asiedu Nketia over his comments on the 2020 election petition.

He says the call for him to apologise is unwarranted.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia, known in the political realm as General Mosquito, has said in a viral audio that the NDC went to court after the 2020 polls without evidence.

According to the audio, the unmbrella family went to court without knowing the total votes they acquired because their system crashed during the collation.

Mr. Njourkone speaking to Akoma News maintained that if there was such a need for an apology at all, it should rather be the NPP that must apologise to Ghanaians for shielding Jean Mensa –the EC Boss –from telling Ghanaians what really happened during the 2020 elections.

He also justified why the government should apologise to the citizens for sending the economy into a ditch.

“The NPP must also apologise to Ghanaians for taking over from the NDC a healthy economy and sending it to a comatose state where subsequently not a single Ghanaian will be permitted for employment under the public sector in 2023 under an IMF conditionality. Matters of these nature are the serious bread and butter issues that ought to engage our attention,” he stated.

He reemphasised the fact in what General Mosquito said about the result collation saying it’s not news to Ghanaians especially after repeating it on several platforms and the court.
