Johnson Asiedu Nketia is national Chair of the opposition NDC and he says the tensions that emmerged as a result of the reshuffle in the Minority caucus have been resolved.

The caucus reshuffle saw the removal of Haruna Iddrisu, James Kluste Avedzi, and Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak as Minority Leader, Deputy Minority Leader, and Minority Chief Whip respectively.

A resolution, he noted, has been passed to by the party and the Minority caucus to wholly support the new administration.

“You can see from the enthusiasm that the challenges that arose out of the announcement of the new leadership of our causes in Parliament have all been resolved. All concerns have been addressed so we are just looking forward,” the national Chair noted after a crunch meeting Monday, February 6, 2023.

The changes that were made resulted in sharp division among the opposition lawmakers.

Some objected to the changes saying due process of convention were not adhered to whilst others the party leadership did not compromise anything in their constitution.

Muntaka for instance did not understand why he could be changed with the notice of a mere letter.

“If you cannot write a letter to appoint, how can you write to disappoint?” He asked at a press conference in Parliament.

He said a few executives meeting to decide who is what and who becomes what was not part of the party’s processes.
