A suicide is reported of a 23-year-old mobile money vendor over a GHC16,000.00 debt at Awutu Bereku in the Central region.
Reports indicate Gideon poisoned himself by taking Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT).
Gideon worked as a mobile money vendor for someone at Awutu Akrampa in Awutu Senya West district but incurred a loss to the tune of GHC16,000.00.
Gideon couldn’t contain the pressure after his boss reported him to the police to help him retrieve his money.
According to police sources, the owner of the business said his employee, after squandering the amount deleted all his photos on social media and off both his personal mobile phone and the MoMo agent line he was using.
An eyewitness who spoke to Onua News’ Nana Yaw Asare said they saw the young lying dead with foamy substance oozing from his mouth.
The body has since been taken by the police to conduct investigations and postmortem.
