Barcelona Atleti midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah was named Man of the Match after the Black Satellites second win at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana beat the Central African Republic 1-0 on Thursday, May 8 to top Group C.

Substitute Joseph Amankwah Opoku scored in the 84th minute to give the four-time champions all the three points.

But it was Aziz Issah who stole the show as he got close to scoring on several occasions during the game.

One of his efforts went off the crossbar.

Speaking after the honour, the former Dreams FC midfielder admitted that it was a difficult encounter.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game because they needed a win to qualify and we needed a point although we had qualified,” he said.

“We needed to top the group so we knew it was going to be a difficult game but we thank God we got a win in the dying minute.”

Aziz Issah is one of the stars in the Ghana squad.

He came on as a substitute in the first game and has since been pivotal in the two wins so far.

Ghana’s next game will be in the quarter-finals, on Monday, May 12, against the third-placed team in Group A or Group B.
