Black Stars defender Abdul Baba Rahman had to be rushed to a near-by hospital after he collapsed on-pitch in PAOK’s Greek Cup match against Panathinaikos on Wednesday.

This followed a head injury he sustained in the 115th minute of the semi-final clash in the Greek Cup.

Baba Rahman immediately lost consciousness after the clash of heads with his opponent.

The Ghanaian was transported in an ambulance after medics administered immediate care.

He has since regained consciousness.

The hosts, Panathinaikos, were leading 2-1 when the incident occurred.

Play was consequently suspended for a long time but the score remained the same after restart.

It, therefore, finished 2-2 on aggregate and Panathinaikos won the resultant penalty kicks 6-5 to qualify to the finals ahead of PAOK.

The incident comes barely three months after another Ghanaian, Raphael Dwamena, collapsed during a league game in Albania.

Unfortunately, he could not make it.
