Black Stars and PAOK defender Baba Abdul-Rahman has spoken for the first time after he collapsed during his side’s Greek Cup match against Panathinaikos on Wednesday, February 21.

The lateral defender collapsed after a clash of heads with an opponent in the 115th minute of the semi-final clash away.

He was immediately attended to on-pitch and rushed to hospital, where he regained consciousness.

Barely 12 hours after the incident, the Ghanaian footballer took to X, formerly Twitter, to thank all those who showed concern and wished him well.

“Hello, just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes in the last 12 or so hours,” the former Chelsea player wrote.

“Thankfully I’m recovering well and scans have shown no major damage,” he added.

He singled out Georgios Vagiannidis “for personally checking in on me at the hospital”.

“It was a tough night but I’d be back running up and down again soon.”

PAOK lost the game 6-5 on penalties after it ended 2-2 on aggregate.
