Flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has lauded the inter faith co-existence between Christians and Muslims in the country.

Addressing a congregation at the Saint Peter’s Church in the Kwabre South constituency of the Ashanti, the Dr. Bawumia called on Ghanaians to help protect the peace of the country.

He extolled the peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians as well as other religions which he advised that people don’t destroy with politics.

“When you look around the African continent, the most peaceful country is Ghana, the reason there is peace in Ghana, Christians and Muslims in our existence we have unity.

“Christians and Muslims the way of living, there is no in-fighting amongst us. Today, you have seen the Imams are in church. You will not find this any where,” he touted.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia has called on Kwabre South residents to vote for him in the upcoming elections.

“Your problem are your roads. I will fix all your roads for you. Put your roads in my hand, give the steer to me to drive you safely.

In a related development, Dr. Bawumia has promised to set up a pilgrimage authority to support both Christians and Muslims who want to travel to either Israel or Mecca for Hajj.

“My fathers Muslims and Christians, we are going to help you. You want the application for Hajj to be flexible, that’s the wisdom that I am bringing so that we can help the Christians who would want to go to Israel,” he stated.
