The Vice President and flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has slammed former President Mahama for presiding over the “unemployed graduates association” during his tenure.
He says the former President, in 2016, few years after Ghana had discovered oil, recorded the lowest growth rate during that generation, the resultant effect, according to Bawumia, was graduate youth who could not find jobs.
Dr. Bawumia says it was due to John Dramani Mahama’s incompetence that took Ghana on that growth tangent despite having all it take to have a better growth rate at the time.
During his “Bawumia for Jobs’ encounter with the youth of Ghana Sunday, November 03, 2024, the flag bearer of the NPP said he has what it takes to better the lives of the Ghanaian youth, unlike John Mahama whose presidency left Ghanaian youth in despair.
He urged them to vote for him to deliver jobs for them to better their lives.
“In 2016, a few years after we became an oil producing country, Ghana’s economy, to the shock of the world, suffered its lowest growth rate for more than a generation.
“The situation was so bad for young people that a new group was formed with impressive membership nationwide. The name of that group was “Unemployed Graduates Association”.
“Coincidentally, the President then is the same person who will be my opponent on Saturday, December 7th,” he stated, calling on the youth to give him the opportunity to serve them to see what he can also offer.
“I am a Vice president who has never been president before who is asking you for the opportunity to lead and show what I can do if offered this opportunity this December,” Dr. Bawumia noted.
I will introduce bold business-friendly policies that the youth desire if elected – Bawumia
