Black Princesses head coach Yusif Basigi has his sights on the ultimate as the Black Princesses play Nigeria in the final of the African Games Women’s Football in Cape Coast.

The game will be a repeat of the inaugural WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup final, which Ghana won 3-1 on penalties, and Basigi is hoping to repeat a similar result to win Gold in the African games.

“It is going to be a good game and we will be motivated by the fact that we have beaten them before and they will also come in a form of revenge,” he said in an interview with Connect FM 97.1MHz.

Since the start of the competition, the fans have always turned up massively to support the Black Princesses, who are yet to lose a game, and Basigi reiterated their presence has played a key role for his team.

“The supporters have played a significant role in pushing the team to the final of the tournament, the girls are always looking up to the fans and I think it has played a major role for us,” he indicated.

For Yusif Basigi, the fans turning up in their numbers for the final will push his team further to the gold medal.

“It will motivate them, it won’t put pressure on us, the players like the fans because it pushes them to do more,” he concluded.

The final will be played at 8:00pm at the Cape Coast Stadium.
