Ghana’s Black Queens have been shortlisted for the CAF Women’s National Team of the Year Award.

The senior women’s soccer team will battle competition from Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses and Nigeria’s Super Falcons – both finalists in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations – for the award.

The Queens were nominated as one of 10 teams for the award.

Ghana’s Bronze-winning performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) won them a place in the awards nomination.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Rabat on Wednesday, November 19.

Ghana’s captain Portia Boakye and goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan Findiib as well as coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren all missed out on the shortlist.

They had been nominated for Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Coach of the Year respectively.
