Ghana’s Black Satellites are guaranteed a medal in the ongoing African Games after reaching the final of men’s football.

The national U-20 men’s soccer team managed to beat Senegal by a lone goal to book a place in the final, scheduled to be played on Friday, March 22.

The late goal by Michael Ephson was the separator as the hosts repeated a feat chalked by their female counterparts a day earlier – the Black Princesses beating their Senegalese counterparts 3-1.

It was a cagey game with Ghana missing some golden chances that came their way.

It took more than 80 minutes for the deadlock to be broken and it came through Ephson, who latched on to a loose ball in the opponents’ penalty area to slot home the only goal of the game.

Earlier, Uganda came from 2-0 down to beat Congo 4-2 on Friday.

The Young Hippos have been perfect participants of the competition, seeing off Nigeria and Senegal to top Group B.

They will come up against Ghana in Friday’s grand finale.
