A 33-year-old man by name Jafet who operates as a black market money exchange dealer has been shot dead at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono region.
According to eye witnesses, Jafet who has been operating this business for many years was shot dead by two masked armed men with a motor bike at the Nkrankwanta lorry station bolting away with his money.
They continued that the deceased usually does his business during the cashew season where he does exchange money for cashew buyers from Ivory Coast and Ghana in the CFA and Ghana cedis.
The incident occurred in the evening of Tuesday, February 18, 2025 after closing from business where he was pronounced dead at the Nkrankwanta Government Hospital.
The Nkrankwanta District Police Command has begun investigation into the matter to bring those responsible to book.
