Two Okada riders from Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have been killed after being unknowingly hired by suspected armed robbers.

The incident happened around 5:30pm Monday, January 13, 2025, with the two suspects managing to escape.

Police have transported the bodies to the St. Martin’s Hospital at Agroyesum whilst investigations are ongoing.

Reports gathered by Akoma News in Kumasi revealed there was a tragic robbery incident at Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

On Monday, January 13, at approximately 8:00pm, the two individuals who were identified as Okada riders from Manso Kwabenaso, were lynched by an angry mob after being suspected of involvement in the crime.

The Okada riders, one identified as 26-year-old Japheth, were reportedly hired to transport two unknown individuals from Manso Kwabenaso to Watreso.

Unbeknownst to the riders, their passengers were armed robbers who carried out a robbery.

The robbers managed to flee the scene with about GHC11,000, 30 pounds of gold, and car keys, leaving behind their unsuspecting riders to face the wrath of the residents.

The deceased bodies have been transported to the St. Martin’s Hospital in Manso Agroyesum by the Manso Adubia District Police.
