Asante Kotoko’s lead marksman Albert Amoah has been ruled out for the next two months following his injury in the 1-1 draw with Medeama SC in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Amoah is reported to have suffered a partial tear of the anterior talofibular ligament in his right leg in that Matchday 16 clash at the TnA Stadium.
He was substituted earlier in that game.
The club officially announced that the injury will keep him out for about two months, missing their MTN FA Cup Round of 32 tie against Accerler8z FC and the next League game against Vision FC.
The announcement follows the ruling out for the rest of the season of lateral defender Emmanuel Kotei, who is said to have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament.
”It’s unpleasant news losing him and Kotei at this busy stage of the season,” Head Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum said.
”I initially had chills when it happened during the game because Albert is naturally a strong boy, but the shout he made during the impact, left me worried, but injuries are part of the game, and we can just hope he recovers quickly, as he has shown with his previous injury.”
