Two young men, aged 20 and 25, have been beaten to death with a vehicle burnt to ashes, following a communal fight between Broadekwano and Asisiriwa communities in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti region.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, has sparked tension between the two communities, prompting police officers to guard the area to prevent reprisal attacks.
Assembly Member for Asisiriwa, Prince Boateng, has revealed that a feud between a young man from Asisiriwa and one from Broadekwano escalated into violence.
“Youth from Broadekwano launched attacks on Asisiriwa youth, destroying and looting property on the streets,” he said.
According to Boateng, the Asisiriwa youth acted in self-defense, as the Broadekwano attackers were targeting anyone on the streets.
“Two of the attackers were caught and lynched by the Asisiriwa youth,” he added.
A commercial sprinter bus belonging to an Asisiriwa resident was also burnt to ashes after the driver sent passengers to Broadekwano.
Police have been notified and launched an investigation into the matter.
