President Akufo-Addo has suspended with immediate effect, the District Chief Executive of Bosome Freho District, Yaw Danso.

His suspension comes after a viral video which captures a voice suspected to be his implicated the person in illegal mining activities also known as ‘galamsey’.

During his visit to the Ashanti Region to meet with the National House of Chiefs and government appointees, President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo called out te DCE saying he would be summoned to the Jubilee House for probing on the said audio.

However, the President said the summon delayed because the DCE was bereaved.

In a letter signed by the Minister of Local Government, Daniel Kwaku Botwe, it says appropriate authorities would be required to ascertain the authenticity of the voice during the investigation to arrive at a final decision.

SUSPENSION FROM OFFICIAL DUTIES PENDING INQUIRY

H.E. the President has directed your suspension as District Chief Executive for the Bosome Freho District Assembly with immediate effect pending an enquiry into the recent leakage of an audio recording on social media, purported to be your voice encouraging illegal mining (galamsey) activities in your District.

The suspension, which takes immediate effect, would allow investigations to be carried out by the appropriate agencies to verify the authenticity of the alleged audio recording.
