Ghana is positioning itself as a major manufacturing and industrial hub for Africa, urging South Korean investors to establish production facilities in the country and use its access to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to reach markets across the continent.

Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness, Ernest Brogya Genfi, said Ghana offers Korean businesses a strategic gateway to a market of more than 1.4 billion people, backed by growing opportunities in industrial development and regional trade.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, at the Ghana-Korea Business Forum 2026, he challenged Korean investors to look at Ghana beyond a destination for finished products and consider it a base for manufacturing, innovation and continental expansion.

“We invite you to see Ghana as a destination for production, not simply as a consumer market,” he said.

Mr Brogya Genfi identified advanced manufacturing, transport and logistics, agribusiness, renewable energy, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, infrastructure and smart mobility as sectors offering significant investment opportunities.

He said investments in these areas could accelerate technology transfer, create jobs, strengthen local industries and position Ghana as a leading centre for industrial innovation in Africa.

He also stressed the need for partnerships that deliver lasting economic benefits through local supply chain development, technical skills transfer and opportunities for young people to participate in the country’s industrial transformation.

He encouraged Korean companies to pursue joint ventures with Ghanaian businesses, combining South Korea’s technological strength with local enterprise to drive research, advanced manufacturing and digital innovation.

Reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for mutually beneficial investments, Mr Brogya Genfi urged participants to move beyond discussions and translate the forum into tangible business partnerships and investment commitments.

“Our message today is therefore simple and unequivocal: Come to Ghana not only to do business with us, but to build the future with us,” he said.
