Residents of Dawomako in the Assin South district of the Central region have been thrown into a state of shock and dismay following the death of a woman in her thirties.

The deceased, Akua Panin, is said to have sent her two-month-old baby to the Assin Anyinabirem Health Centre for circumcision.

But right after the deceased arrived home with the circumcised son, she collapsed and died instantly.

In this light, the family has attributed it to spirituality. According to them, the deceased had not shown any sign of sickness. So to die immediately after the circumcision of the child, they believe, is bound with spirituality.

Twifo Praso-based Arise FM’s  Nana Kwame Essel spoke with the linguist of Assin Dawomako, Okyeame Kwaku Boabeng who called for the community’s support to cater for the two-month-old baby.

“We went to the community centre to announce for people to contribute as little as they can so we can use it.to cater for the baby. He is only two months and I’m told he is not.taking the breast milk they are offering him unless the canned baby foods,” he pleaded.
