At Assin Asamankese in the Assin South district of the Central region, a 48-year-old woman has been bathed with hot soup for her inability to pay a GHc20.00 debt she was owing.
Adwoa Ketewa, the victim, had borrowed fish at a cost of GHc20.00 from a fishmonger to prepare dinner for her family.
She says her creditor, Akua Dermaa, who resides at Assin Achiase, a neighbouring community, visited her house at Asamankese three days later to demand her money.

She indicated that “I didn’t have money on me when the woman came demanding it, so I asked her to go and come the next day.”
According to Adwoa Ketewa who disclosed that the negotiations didn’t favour her creditor, she asked that Akua goes home and return the next day for her money.
The fishmonger in the course of the negotiation chanced on a palm nut soup on fire and poured it on her debtor’s face.
The suspect immediately after pouring the hot palm nut soup on the victim absconded to her house.
The case has been reported to the Assin Manso Police Station with the suspect yet to be arrested as at the time this report was being filed.
