The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the teams to participate in the upcoming African Games in Accra.
The U-20 sides of eight participating nations will play in the football category of the multi-sport event.
For men’s football, the eight quarterfinalists at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations will join Ghana for the championship.
They are Benin, Congo, The Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tunisia and Uganda.
The same age category applied during the U-20 tournament in Egypt will be adopted.
For the women’s category, the teams that participated in the fourth round of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers will be at the Accra Games.
They are Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda.
The African Games Accra 2023 will take place from Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 24.
