The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) has had held discussions with the former President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
This was announced by Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Henry Kwasi Prempeh, on his Facebook Thursday, June 6, 2025. The Committee is in its fourth month of extensive consultations, seeking input from stakeholders across various divide in the process to review the 1992 Constitution.
According to Prof. Prempeh, the Committee will soon make available, the calendar for the rescheduled zonal public engagements with the general public.
The 8-member Committee, had, as of May 16, 2025, conducted 12 thematic stakeholder engagements, 5 identifiable interest group engagements, and 8 eminent person consultations, all aimed at ensuring an inclusive review process.
The members have met with stakeholders in areas including Land and Natural Resources, Local Government and Decentralisation, Public Services and State Enterprises, The Judiciary, Executive, and Legislature, Rights, Gender, and Youth, Public Finance and Economic Governance, and Anti-Corruption Measures. Outstanding thematic discussions on Chieftaincy and Citizenship are yet to be held.
There are other identifiable groups yet to be engaged, including religious and traditional leaders, including other interest groups such as business and labour organisations, academia, professional bodies, the military, police, other security services, and the media who have been engaged already.
High profile discussions with prominent figures including former Presidents John Dramani Mahama and John Agyekum Kufuor, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, Nana S.K.B. Asante (Chair of the 1992 Constitution Drafting Committee), and governance expert Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi.
They are expected to meet more high-profile persons in the coming weeks.
Zonal sessions in some of the regional capitals will also be held with dates yet to be announced.

Chairman Kwesi Prempeh reemphasised the Committee’s commitment to a transparent and participatory process, urging the public to make contributions towards the review of the document which is the pivot of the nation’s democracy.
