The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI) Constituency in the Upper West Region has welcomed the District Assembly’s improved performance in the 2025 Public Financial Management Compliance League Table (PFMCLT), describing it as evidence of accountable leadership and prudent financial management.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, and signed by the Constituency Communication Officer, Denis Andaban, the party said the Assembly had climbed from 240th position nationally in 2024 to 194th position in 2025, representing an improvement of 46 places.
The statement copied to 3news.com also noted that the Assembly improved its regional standing, moving from fifth to fourth position in the Upper West Region, outperforming seven other district assemblies in the region.
According to the NDC, the Public Financial Management Compliance League Table is an important accountability tool that measures how effectively Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies manage public resources. It said the ranking promotes transparency, strengthens financial discipline and helps prevent leakages in the use of public funds.
The party urged residents of Daffiama Bussie Issa to take an active interest in how public resources are managed, stressing that effective financial management is essential for delivering development.
The NDC attributed the Assembly’s improved performance to what it described as visionary, disciplined and accountable leadership.
It commended the District Chief Executive, James Wor, the Assembly’s management and staff, as well as the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Sebastian Sandaare, and Assembly Members for their collaborative efforts.
The statement praised the District Chief Executive’s proactive and development-oriented leadership, saying it had contributed significantly to the district’s progress.
The constituency branch of the governing party further described the improved ranking as a reflection of what it called the NDC’s commitment to pragmatic, innovative and transformative governance.
It called on all departments and agencies under the District Assembly to intensify their efforts to improve further and surpass the national average in future assessments.
The NDC expressed confidence that with sustained collaboration, inclusiveness and transparency, the Daffiama Bussie Issa District Assembly would continue to improve its performance and eventually rank among Ghana’s best-performing districts.
