President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Mohammad Dangote, has credited President John Dramani Mahama with restoring investor confidence and stabilising Ghana’s economy.

He says the turnaround is not the result of any magic, but of the right decisions that have convinced investors that Ghana is on the right path again.

He said this at the Accra Reset meeting hosted by President Dramani Mahama on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York on Monday, September 21, 2026.

Africa’s richest man told participants that the Ghanaian experience shows that money follows trust.

According to him, the improvement in Ghana’s economic fortunes demonstrates the link between trust in leadership and capital flow.

“He didn’t do any magic. He’s not a magician, but he did the right things, and people really have a lot of trust in him. And that’s why Ghana’s economy turned around,” he said.
