The Office of the Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has dissociated itself from campaign posters circulating on social media that suggest he is seeking to contest the flagbearership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a statement issued by the Office, they described the posters as fake and misleading, stressing that they did not originate from Mr Iddrisu or any authorized representatives.
“These posters are not from Hon. Haruna Iddrisu or his office in any form,” the statement said. “They are false and should be disregarded entirely.”
The Office urged members of the public to treat the materials with “the utmost contempt,” warning against the spread of misinformation capable of misleading party supporters and the general public.
According to the statement, Haruna Iddrisu remains fully focused on his duties as Minister for Education and as the elected representative for Tamale South. It noted that he is currently in Lusaka, Zambia, accompanying President John Dramani Mahama on official engagements.
“The Minister is actively working with His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama to advance the Reset Ghana agenda, particularly within the education sector, which has been entrusted to him by the President,” the Office said.
The statement concluded by thanking the public for its continued support and cooperation, while reaffirming Mr. Iddrisu’s commitment to his current national responsibilities.
