Former President John Dramani Mahama has charged Ghanaians and Africa as a whole not to lose hope in the country and the continent respectively.

He says the best citizens could do is to foresee a future that instills hope than to brood over the current challenges confronting the region.

Speaking on “Africa’s Strategic Priorities and Global Role” at the Chatham House in London Friday, January 27, 2023, the aspiring flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress expressed his optimism in the positive energies of the youth on the continent.

According to him, a positive mindset and trust in the youth will place the continent where it deserves.

“I encourage you not to lose hope in Ghana and Africa because it is far more useful to look forward to the future with hope than to brood over the present with despair. I am an eternal believer in the potential and positive energies of Africa and her youth,” he indicated.

Meanwhile, the Mr. Mahama had said it is unfortunate the NDC could notbl drum home their enviable achievements during his tenure only for Ghanaians to bring on the NPP to destroy the cogent economy they built.
