Dreams FC have been nominated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as Club of the Year.

The 2024 CAF Confederation Cup semi-finalists were among 10 clubs released by the continent’s football-governing body on Thursday for the award.

The nomination comes a couple of months prior to the 2024 CAF Awards slated for Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, December 16.

Dreams FC’s run in last season’s CAF Confederation Cup surprised many given they were making their debut in the continent’s inter-club competitions.

Captain John Antwi, who led the side against tough opponents, has also been named among the 10 players for Interclub Player of the Year.

In there is also youngster Abdul Aziz Issah, who has since moved to FC Barcelona Atletic.

Aziz Issah scored four goals in the debutants’ run into the semi-finals, losing to eventual champions Zamalek of Egypt.

The Ghana U-20 star was also nominated for the Young Player of the Year Award.

He will face competition from nine other youngsters including Senegal’s Lamine Camara for the Award.

Dreams FC, who are struggling in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, expressed excitement about the nomination.

Excited to be recognized among the best! Nominated for Club of the Year at the CAF Awards 2024!” the club wrote on X, formerly Twitter, a few minutes after the nominations were released.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) also congratulated the club and its two players for the nominations.
