The Ghana Police Service on Monday arrested three persons as part of investigations into the death of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, at the Prof. Amoah Koramansah II Park on Sunday.
A search conducted in the room of one of the suspects, according to the police, led to the retrieval of two dresses with suspected bloodstains and an MP 23 pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition.
These were contained in a statement issued on Monday.
The arrested included the former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and Member of Parliament for Sunyani West Constituency, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, who is the bankrolled of Nsoatreman FC.
Two others – Agyemang Duah Owusu and Kyeremeh Joseph – were also picked up by officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Service.
It was in the former’s room that the dresses and the gun were found.
The police say the three suspects will be arraigned before court on Tuesday, February 4.
They have also assured of thorough investigations into the matter.
