Financial Analyst, Mr Joe Jackson, has said that although the inflation rate has dropped drastically, everyone ought to remember that prices are still high.
To that end, he has called for prudent spending.
In a post on his X page, he said, “Inflation drops to 13.7% …. Hurray! But wait… before you celebrate like you’ve won the lottery, remember: Inflation down ≠ Prices down. Your Kenkey is still expensive Plan smart, Spend wisely, This drop is hope, not magic. Let’s chop with sense and save for the future.”
The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has announced that the inflation rate for June 2025 is 13.7%.
Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu noted that the development shows that the pressures driving inflation over the past months are declining.

For the first time in a while, the general price levels from May to June this year dropped, recording what a deflation of 1.2 percent.

Dr. Iddrisu said “The downward inflationary trend over the last 6 months provides some consistency and assurance of real, sustained shift in prices.”

The Upper West region recorded the highest regional inflation of 32.3% largely caused by food inflation and utilities while the Bono region recorded the lowest of 8.4%.
